HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University head football coach Mark Snyder was generally pleased with the progress he saw in Thursday's practice session at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

"It seems like we are starting to click," Snyder said. "We are starting to understand the pressure situations and that is good to see. We still have a long way to go, but we are getting there."

Marshall's offense performed well in the team's blitz and two-minute drills even when heavy rain blanketed the stadium for a period.

One player in particular that earned praise from the coach was freshman Chubb Small.

"Chubb is getting better it seems with every rep," Snyder said.

The Thundering Herd will conduct its final two-a-days on Friday before conducting a game day rehearsal on Saturday that is open to the public.

"On Saturday we are going to make our walk over from the Henderson Center to the stadium, send the captains out for the coin toss, go through all of our pre-game activities, and simulate our real game day," Snyder said.

"I hope a lot of fans come out on Saturday, because we want it to be like a real game as much as possible."

The Thundering Herd's rehearsal scrimmage is expected to begin around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Following the practice session on Saturday the Marshall coaching staff will conduct its annual "Women's Football Clinic" in the Joan C. Edwards Stadium Big Green Room at 4 p.m.

Cost of admission is $10 per person with all proceeds benefiting the MU Quarterback Club.
