Elva Friend

Elva “Renae” Friend, 53, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.

The Ironton native was born May 24, 1958, the daughter of Mary Louise Bruce Dearfield and the late Frank Dearfield. She is also survived by her husband, Randy Friend, whom she married Oct. 5, 1985.

She was a 1976 graduate of Green High School, where she was valedictorian of her graduating class. She was a former LPN/CLTC for Dr. Martin Kassan’s office and Greenbrier Nursing Home. She was a member of the Junior Furnace Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frankie Dearfield.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Molly Renae Dearfield of Jackson, Mo.; two sons, Cole Younger Friend and Lucas Jackson Friend, both of Ironton; three step-children, Brandi Sue Friend, Christopher Lee Friend both of Coal Grove and Randall Brent Friend of Niles, Ohio; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Pastor Rock and Linda Dearfield of Ashland, Ky., and Bill and Marge Dearfield of Ironton; a sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Tom Laber of Ironton and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

Maxine Webb, 81, of Ironton, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

 

Paul Ison

Paul Ison, 47, of Ironton, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. He was the husband of Sharon Ison, who survives. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

 

Sheila Campbell

PROCTORVILLE — Sheila M. Scarberry-Campbell, 60, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va. She was the wife of John Campbell, who survives. Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Huntington. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home.
