An Ironton woman accused of killing another woman with a vehicle will wait a little longer for her day in court, as will a South Point man accused of rape.
Kimberly Delawder, 33, of
90 Pine St., Ironton, was scheduled to stand trial Dec. 12.
Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton agreed to delay the trial Wednesday pending the receipt of additional information.
“They took blood samples from the bottom of her truck and it’s being analyzed,” Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr. said. “We probably could not get the results in time for the trial.”
No new trial date has been scheduled. Delawder is accused of running over Kathleen Owens while she sat on the Ironton floodwall in the early morning hours of
Sept. 17.
Delawder was arrested four days later in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She remains in the Lawrence County Jail.
Also Wednesday, Walton agreed to delay the trial of
Jerry Morrison, 47, of 105 Dean St., South Point.
Morrison was to stand trial Dec. 19 for first-degree rape.
As in the case of Delawder, the delay is to allow receipt of additional evidence. No new trial date has been scheduled for Morrison.
