South Point man hit by car

SOUTH POINT — A South Point man was injured early Sunday morning in a pedestrian versus car accident; authorities are still looking for the driver of the car.
According to information from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, David Smith, 46, was walking along County Road 276 (Sandusky Road) at 4:52 a.m. New Years Day when a vehicle traveling South Point struck him. Smith was taken from Lawrence County Emergency Medical Services to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. Information about his condition was not available as of press time.
Authorities said the driver of the car did not stop. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the Ohio State Highway Patrol at (740) 377-4311.
