LATHAM — The up and down scoring was up just enough.
The Green Lady Bobcats rollercoaster offense was good enough to produce a 42-41 overtime win over the Western Pike Lady Indians Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
Green had two quarters of double digit scoring and two quarters in single digits.
“We need to be more consistent, but this is a good win. We have five games in seven days, so we have a tough stretch,” Green coach Dale Royse said.
Elista Hall scored 13 points and Kortney Pfleger had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Traci Elrod had eight rebounds for Green (8-5, 7-4 SOC).
Kaylee Helton scored 26 points for Western (4-11) to lead all scorers.
Green fell behind 12-10 after the first quarter, then scored just six points in the second quarter but held Western to only one point and took a 16-13 halftime advantage.
Hall scored of 10 of Green’s 19 points in the third quarter as the lead grew to 35-26.
The Lady Indians tried to rally in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Bobcats were able to hold on for the win.
“We’re glad to get the win. We’re playing five games in seven days and we’re going to have to be in good shape,” Royse said.
Green hosts the West Union varsity at 1 p.m.
