PROCTORVILLE
— Good enough for the Fairland Dragons was too good for the Green Bobcats.
Fairland had just six hits but still managed to beat the Green Bobcats 11-1 in five innings Tuesday.
Robbie Easterling and Adam Fuller combined on a four-hitter as Fairland improved to 10-5 on the season.
“Our pitching was good enough and we got some timely hitting,” Fairland coach Roger Snyder said.
Fairland got a run in the first inning when Nick Zundel walked, stole second base, took third on a ground out and came home on a sacrifice fly by Fuller.
In the second, the Dragons erupted for nine runs.
Ethan Long was safe on an error, Adam Berry singled and Zac Jordan reached on an error to load the bases.
With one out, Cole Hatfield walked to force in a run. Adam Fuller singled in a run and Robbie Easterling walked to push home a run.
Tyler Thackston had a two-run single and Adam Berry walked to force in pinch-runner Spencer Baise. Jordan walked to drive in another run.
Zundel then capped the rally with a two-run single.
Green got its run in the top of the third on a leadoff home run by John Dawson.
But Fairland got the run back in the bottom of the inning.
Hatfield singled but erased on a ground ball by Fuller. Easterling singled to put runners on the corners and Thackston hit into a fielder’s choice as the run scored.
Fairland plays at Gallipolis Wednesday.
