The Ironton City Council Public Utilities Committee will meet today to discuss a proposed lease with Ironton Little League and the city’s lease with the entity that operates The Fuzzy Duck at the Center Street Boat Landing.
The PUC will also discuss two proposed street changes. Ordinance 11-34 would close a portion of Washington Street between Ninth Street and Jersey Alley.
City officials have said previously this move is necessary for the development of property in that area. But one resident who lives near the development site last week expressed concerns about the proposed street change.
Ordinance 11-69 would close Grape Alley between Spruce and Walnut streets. An update on the water meter project is also on the agenda.
The city council committee as a whole will also meet. Members will discuss a proposal to rezone a lot on Liberty Avenue. Part of the lot is zoned business, the rest is residential. The property in question is adjacent to The University Mart.
The PUC meeting is at 5 p.m. at the Ironton City Center. The committee as a whole will meet immediately afterward.
