COAL GROVE — The biggest race to ever hit the high banks of the Rocky Top Raceway, the “Summer Sizzler 50,” is set to heat up the track on Friday night.

Some of the best Dirt Late Model drivers in the country are set to come to Rocky Top to race for a $12,000 dollar Late Model purse with $3,000 of it going to the winner.

Tabbed a “can’t miss show” for spectators, the races will allow fans to see the best of the best compete in a full program for the Late Models which ends with the big 50-lap feature event.

In last year’s 50-lap special event, R.J. Conley outdueled Josh McGuire to take the big prize in what many considered one of the best races of the season anywhere.

For this year’s “Summer Sizzler 50” with more money on the line and the best drivers racing on an ultra-fast, three-groove racing surface, fans are in for a big night of racing.

In addition to the great Late Model racing, fans will also get to see full racing programs for our AMRA Modified and Bomber divisions which have also put on a lot of great racing this season.

General admission to the “Summer Sizzler 50” is only $17 with Pit Admission $30. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with Hot Laps starting the night’s action at 7:30.
