BAINBRIDGE — In this case, one out of three was good enough.
The St. Joseph Female Flyers didn’t play their best in the season opener, but they did enough to beat the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats 44-40 in overtime at the Paint Valley Shootout.
“We didn’t shoot well and we turned the ball over, but we played well enough defensively to win,” said Female Flyers’ coach Nick Miller.

Neal had six points in the first quarter to give St. Joseph a 13-9 lead. Miller got four points in the second quarter but Whiteoak got within 20-19 at the break.
Whiteoak rallied to take a 28-26 lead at the end of the third quarter. Neal had all six points in the quarter for the Female Flyers.
