COAL GROVE — The River Valley Raiders better check their AT&T bill. They spent a lot of time dialing long-distance Friday.

The Raiders hit 10 3-pointers and used a 30-point third quarter to beat the Coal Grover Hornets 70-41 in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We had people on them, they were just hitting. They shot the eyes out of it,” Hornets coach Mike Waller said.

Jason Jones led the Raiders with 19 points as he drained five shots from behind the arc. Bryan Morrow had 14 points, Michael Cordell 11 and Ryan Henry 10.

Adam Bare led the Hornets (0-14, 0-6) with 12 points and 13 rebounds Tyler Branch scored 9 points and Simon Hall blocked 9 shots.

Jones scored 8 points in the first quarter as River Valley took an 18-4 lead. Branch had all of Coal Grove’s points.

River Valley was up 27-14 at the break, the scored 30 points in the third quarter that included four 3-pointers and the lead was 57-28.
