Ironton clings to hope of home playoff game

After answering one question, the Ironton Fighting Tigers are now faced with another.
Would Ironton make the Division IV postseason playoffs? A resounding 48-7 win over Zanesville made that answer a definite, “Yes.”
Now comes the question, “Will Ironton get a home game?”
Maybe, with some help.
That question will be answered for certain Friday night when the Fighting Tigers host the Logan Chieftains.
Logan is a Division I school with 36.5 first level points. An Ironton win coupled with the right combination of wins and losses by other teams in Region 15 could give the Fighting Tigers a home game.
Bellaire continues to lead Region 15 with New Lexington now second followed by Westfall and Martins Ferry. Ironton is fifth, St. Clairsville sixth, Wellston seventh and Columbus Eastmoor Academy eighth.
Bellaire and Martins Ferry end the season Friday night with their annual rivalry.
New Lexington plays Philo (5-4), Westfall takes on Paint Valley (2-7), St. Clairsville faces Harrison Central (2-7), Wellston plays Vinton County (5-4) and Eastmoor gets Africentric (4-5).
Rock Hill, 6-3, is ninth for the second straight week. Last week’s upset loss to Coal Grove almost shattered the Redmen playoff hopes. They must beat South Point and hope Eastmoor loses and their schedule of defeated teams lose as well.
