PORTSMOUTH — Shawnee State University’s Lori Harmon is going to need a new shelf in the trophy room.

Harmon was not only named to the All-American Mideast Conference first team, she was the South Division Pitcher of the Year.

Harmon put up some impressive numbers. She had a 12-6 record with a 2.24 earned run average while logging 124.2 innings. Harmon racked up 65 strikeouts and walked only 19 batters.

Harmon started and completed 18 games. She posted five shutouts and opponents only had a .243 batting average against her.

She was the AMC Freshman of the Year last season.

Besides her all-league selection, Harmon was also honored as a member of the NAIA Region IX team in a vote by the region coaches.

Harmon, a sophomore, pitched the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings to a state runner-up in 2005 in Division IV.

Joining Harmon on the All-AMC first team was teammate Ashley Keen while Ashley Adkins and Emily Furhmann were second team. Ali Hull and Tammie Jo Coleman were honorable mention.

Laura Kot of Mount Vernon was the Player of the Year while Nicole Pluger of Urbana earned the top coaching honor in the South Division.
