PINE GROVE — This is more than just your average golf tournament.
The Ironton Country Club is hosting its third annual member/guest tournament Aug. 4-5, but it will be a little more special for two special guests.
Lawrence Rudmann and Bill Washburn, the only two surviving Prisoners of War of WWII living in Ironton, will be honored during ceremonies at the annual event.
The tournament will feature other activities including a car giveaway for a hole-in-one on the No. 17 hole. There will be additional prizes on the other par 3 holes.
Craig Haney will provide the dinner and evening entertainment. A steak dinner on the smoker prepared by Eric Bradshaw.
Corn hole and euchre tournament will be held Saturday evening.
As for the tournament, first place trophies will be given in each flight. Teams must consist of one member and one guest. Team cost is $150 per team.
Scores will count for both golfers each day. This is a cumulative tournament with the total score from both days deciding the winners.
Flights will be determined after Saturday’s round.
