With talk of identity theft these days and fears of personal information falling into the wrong hands, the Lawrence-Scioto Solid Waste Management District and Shred Devil of Wheelersburg are jointly offering a document shredding day 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Property, 216 Collins Ave. in South Point.
“We’re living in a time where we all have vital documents. Once we no longer need them, we need to dispose of them safely,” District Director Dan Palmer said. “These documents will be shredded into very small pieces. Here is your opportunity to take advantage of a very important and necessary service. We encourage people to participate. And I can’t thank Shred Devil enough.”
This event is for Lawrence County residents only. Participants are asked not to bring three-ring binders; all paper clips and staples must be removed before papers can be shredded. There is a limit of 10 boxes per car.
Palmer said the service is free but donations will be accepted,
Shred Devil is a full-service on site mobile document destruction company.
The entire shredding operation will literally occur at the location in front of the customer’s eyes, Palmer said.
