Scrubs Unlimited has a new location.
The nursing supply store has moved from its location on State Route 234 to the corner store of the Ironton City Building.
“Ironton seems to be growing and it’s a nice location,” said owner Joy Adams. “Now we have better access and more visibility.
Adams, who also drives a bus route for the Dawson-Bryant schools, opened the store three years ago. She said she got the idea for the store from her sister-in-law who lives in Tennessee and runs a similar store. Her niece Jessica Moore recently became her partner.
“It was just something I wanted to do, I enjoy being out and meeting people,” she said. “I like to stay busy. I really enjoy this.”
Her favorite part of the job is making deliveries.
“We delivery to doctor’s offices and hospitals in our area,” Adams said. “I enjoy talking to them. I’ve met a lot of nice people.”
The store carries shoes, jackets, stethoscopes, nursing bags, socks, watches, key chains and, of course, scrubs in a variety of patterns and colors.
“We try to keep the prices down,” she said. “That’s how you’re going to get business in.”
She said the most popular pattern right now is sports related.
“Right now, Ohio State is the hot item,” she said. “That and Kentucky Wildcats.”
The store is located at 301 S. Third St. in downtown Ironton. Business hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The phone number is (740) 533-2213.
