A man indicted for impersonating a federal official was among those making appearances Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Kenneth R. Jenkins, 46, of 2491 County Road 5, Kitts Hill, admitted he violated his community control sanctions, also known as probation, by inappropriately using alcohol and by being indicted on the new federal charge. Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced him to six months in prison.

“I’m very sorry. I apologize for any inconvenience, all the inconvenience,” Jenkins said.

Jenkins was on probation for a 2008 receiving stolen property conviction.

Also Wednesday, Cassie Prince, 19, of 15540 Callihan Road, Catlettsburg, Ky., pleaded guilty to two counts of receiving stolen property, one a felony and the other a misdemeanor.

Bowling sentenced her to 90 days in jail on the misdemeanor but suspended the sentence. He sentenced her to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation (CCS/ISP) on the felony charge and ordered her to pay $174.97 to her victim.

Eddie Ray Estep, 29, of 150 Township Road 615, South Point, pleaded guilty to one count of theft from the elderly.

Bowling sentenced him to four years CCS/ISP. Estep was arrested Aug. 11 and accused of stealing five mobile home axels from an elderly man. The axles were recovered, eliminating the need for restitution.

Matthew D. White, 26, of 326 Walnut St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs.

“I know Mr. White and he’s had a fine reputation. He’s from a good family but he’s made a series of bad decisions,” White’s attorney, Mike Gleichauf said. “He’s been accepted to STAR and he’s a good candidate for that program. I think this will help him get his life back on track.”

Bowling ordered White to successfully complete a rehabilitation program at the STAR Community Justice Center and sentenced him to four years CCS/ISP.
