CHESAPEAKE — If you say nobody’s perfect, Allison Chapman could have argued otherwise on Wednesday.
Chapman fired a perfect game as the Chesapeake Lady Panthers blanked the Coal Grove Lady Hornets 10-0 in a five-inning Ohio Valley Conference game.
Chapman struck out 11 of the 15 batters she faced. She also went 3-3 with a triple and four runs batted in.
“She threw pretty good. She had a nice change. She didn’t throw it a whole lot, but when she did it was effective,” said Chesapeake coach Aaron Rice.
Nikki Lindsey went 2-4 as Chesapeake got 10 hits. Kimmie Bennett, Sidney Boyle, Hannah Henderson and Chapman all doubled. Myky Harmon and Chapman had triples.
On Tuesday, Chesapeake dropped a tough 3-2 decision to the Ashland Lady Tomcats despite a stellar pitching effort by Boyle.
Boyle struck out 10, walked three and gave up just four hits.
Chesapeake (4-2, 2-0) visits South Point Friday.
