I am responding to an article in the newspaper March 30.

I was pulled over in Ironton on Dec. 21. They gave me a field test that I passed. That was not good enough so I was then taken to the Ironton Police Department where they performed a breathalyzer test with a result of .161 (blood alcohol level).

I received three days of community service, a $500 fine, $60 supervision fee, my license was suspended six months and I received six months probation.

Now, on March 4 a Coal Grove village councilman was pulled over early in the morning hours for following six inches from the bumper of another vehicle.

The officer observed driving under the influence, driving on expired license, an odor of alcohol, bloodshot and glossy eyes, slurred speech, open containers of alcohol, a blood alcohol level of .169 and the councilman hit the vehicle in front of him.

The assistant prosecuting attorney said there was no probable cause for pulling the councilman over.

Hello, wake up.

The charges were dismissed. I see the probably cause being that he was a Coal Grove village councilman and my cause being nobody.
