How difficult is your schedule? Lose two straight and remain in the same position will give your team a clue.
Ironton’s second straight loss last week at Chillicothe didn’t change the Fighting Tigers standing in the weekly Ohio High School Athletic Association computer playoff ratings.
Ironton, 3-3, remains eighth in Region 15 of Division IV with a 7.4783 average. The Fighting Tigers’ second level point total is the fifth highest in the region.
The South Point Pointers made a climb to the No. 11 spot with their third win in sixth games last week. The Pointers average is 5.7770 to trail No. 10 Meigs which has a 6.3830 average.
Martins Ferry leads the region with a9.9230 average followed by unbeaten New Lexington with an 8.9166 average.
Union Local is third followed by Gallipolis, who lost 42-6 to Ironton, Columbus Hartley, St. Clairsville and Licking Heights.
In Region 19 of Division V, the Coal Grove Hornets (3-3) can keep their playoff hopes alive with a win this week. The problem is, their opponent needs a win to keep their hopes alive.
The Hornets host South Point in a game that could go a long way in determining the Ohio Valley Conference championship, let alone making the postseason playoffs.
A complete list of the top 10 teams in each region of all six divisions appears on Page 12 under “Scoreboard.”
