HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin is making her visit to West Virginia as a candidate, but don’t plan on a long visit.
Palin is scheduled to touch down at Tri-State Airport near Huntington Sunday before traveling to a campaign rally in Ohio.
The Alaska governor has been a popular draw on the campaign trail for the Republican ticket.
Neither the Republican nor the Democratic candidates have spent much time in West Virginia. Palin’s running mate, Sen. John McCain, made a similarly brief stop at Tri-State in July before traveling to an Ohio rally.
Pundits have taken West Virginia for granted as a McCain state, but a recent poll showed that Democratic Sen. Barack Obama is narrowing the gap.
