Extra base hits, that is.

Ironton belted 6 extra base hits as they remained unbeaten in the Ohio Valley Conference race with an 11-0 shut out of the Chesapeake Panthers on Monday.

Carson Freeman — who drove in 2 runs — got the victory as he hurled a 2-hitter. Freeman struck out 6 and walked one over 5 innings.

Ironton (10-1, 8-0) took a quick 3-0 first inning lead.

Kerns walked, Baker singled and Ginger belted a triple to drive in both runners and then he scored on a wild pitch.

The lead went to 7-0 in the third inning.

With one out, Ginger slugged his second triple and scored on a wild pitch. Jacob Hughes was safe on an error, went to third on a double by Kleinman and scored when Freeman reached on an error. Philyaw capped the rally with an RBI double.

Ginger walked and Hughes doubled him home. Kleinman was hit by a pitch and Kerns got an RBI single.

The final run for Ironton scored in the fifth as Baker doubled and Ginger had an RBI single.
