TPC Wellness hosts art show for the community

Dozens of pieces of artwork were on display Wednesday at TPC Wellness’s Second Street location in Ironton.

The mental health and addiction treatment business hosted an art show on their lot and CEO Elizabeth Cremeans said the weather could not have been more cooperative.

It was their first attempt at such a show and Cremeans said they hope to do another one in the summer.

Artworks were created by individuals served by the business, as well as their staff, she said.

“We wanted to give people an outlet for something they love to do,” she said. “And we wanted to bring something positive to the community.”

Cremeans said the artworks were judged by people from around the region, including local universities, Tri-State STEM+M Early College High School, Marshall University student body vice president Connor Waller, of Ironton, and Michael Sexton, an artist with Aspire! Conservatory of Fine & Performing Arts, located in Ashland.

In another project, Cremeans said they have purchased land next to their building and will use it for a community garden, an effort they started last year.
