The Tri-State’s McElroy family has begun offering a T-shirt, themed around a piece of Huntington history, as a partnership with Charleston, West Virginia’s Kin Ship Goods.

The Born of Spite T-shirt is a piece of official merchandise for the McElroy’s popular “My Brother, My Brother and Me” podcast, hosted by Justin, Travis and Griffin McElroy, the sons of Ironton’s Clint McElroy, the host of WIRO-FM’s morning show in Ironton.

The shirt is designed by artist Pepper Raccoon and hand-printed by Kin Ship Goods.

According to Travis McElroy, the shirt is based on the story of Huntington founder Collis P. Huntington and when he got a parking ticket in Guyandotte “for tying his horse up in the wrong spot.”

McElroy said Huntington was planning to visit a train depot in Guyandotte, but after receiving the ticket, decided, instead to build his own city next to it.

“Huntington eventually swallowed up the offending town and incorporated it!” McElroy said.

The shirt is available at www.kinshipgoods.com.
