“This remarkable accomplishment is a source of immense pride and joy for our entire community,” a portion of the proclamation read. “Your success on the field is a testament to your hard work, discipline, and commitment to excellence. The countless hours of practice, the determination you’ve shown in overcoming challenges, and the unity you’ve displayed as a team have culminated in this historic victory. You have demonstrated what can be achieved when talent is combined with perseverance and teamwork.”

The commissioners also cited the team’s “character, integrity, and sportsmanship.”

“Each of you has represented Lawrence County with dignity and respect, serving as role models for our community and setting a high standard for those who will follow in your footsteps,” the proclamation read. “The way you carry yourselves—on and off the field—reflects the values of hard work, respect, and humility that define true champions.”

The commissioners said the team’s success was shared with the coaches, families, cheerleaders, band and fans who cheered them on.

“Together, you have reminded us all of the power of unity and the importance of community pride,” the proclamation read. “As you celebrate this incredible milestone, know that your accomplishments will be remembered for generations to come. You have written a new chapter in the proud history of the Ironton Fighting Tigers, and you have inspired countless others to dream big and work hard to achieve their goals.”
