Content Lynette Powell, 61, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away at King’s Daughters Medical Center on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024.

She was born Nov. 5, 1962 to her late parents, Jerry Lee Powell, Sr. and Shirley Jean (Cooper) Powell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bob Alvord.

She was a graduate of Paul Blazer High School, worked as a clerk at Sally’s Beauty Supply and was a member of Ironton Moose Club.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Jones; and niece, Jerrie Jones.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Jerry Powell, Jr. (Cassandra); sister; Susane Powell; niece, Kiersten Powell; and nephews, Joshua Payne, Isaac Branom, Isaih Branom, Jacob Powell, Riley Keith and Chesney Powell.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time service.
