William Klaiber

William “Bill” Fredrick Klaiber, 86, of Ironton, passed away peacefully at SOMC in Portsmouth, on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

Bill was born in Lawrence County on Sept. 19, 1937, to his late parents, Cecil Klaiber and Rose (Lavender) Klaiber.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary (Johnson) Klaiber.
Bill attended Green Schools and retired from Dayton Malleable Iron Company after 32 years in 1990.  He went on to be the superintendent for Woodland Cemetery from 1990-2007.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Clara Mae, Helen Faye Klaiber, Chuck Klaiber, James Klaiber, Robert Klaiber, Betty Klaiber, Harold Klaiber, Carl Klaiber and Wanda White.
Those left to cherish his memory and the legacy he leaves are his beloved children, Tammy Lilly (Randy), of Ironton, Donna Gannon (John), of Franklin Furnace, Angel Malone (Roger), of Pedro and William Klaiber (Melissa), of Ironton; his grandchildren, Robert Hasenauer, Alec Hasenauer, Emily (Trevor) Lindsey, Taylor Lilly (J.J. Lewis), John (Dawn) Gannon, Ryan (Ashton) Gannon, Kalee Gannon (Nicholas Bakonyi), Amanda (Justin) Gillum, Brooke (Eric) Breedlove, Derek (Bridgette) Malone, Mitchell (Brea) Malone, Jacob (Irina) Malone, Matthew Malone (Lexie Krum), Breanna Klaiber and Trent Klaiber (Taylor Reynolds); a host of great-grandchildren; and his siblings; Eileen Barber, of Haverhill and Don Klaiber, of Coal Grove.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St. Ironton, with Pastor Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
