Ironton to host 8 teams for 7-on-7 competition

Ironton — winners of the West Virginia University 7-on-7 event — will be hosting 8 other teams including 2 opponents on this year’s schedule: Fairland and Jackson.

Other teams include Boyd County, Ky., George Rogers Clark, Ky., Chapmanville, W.Va., Wayne, W.Va., Williamsburg and Cincinnati Withrow.

The event begins at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12.

While quarterback, running backs and wide receivers will play in the 7-on-7 tournament, the linemen will be involved in their own competition.

Linemen will participate in bench press, a truck push, relay race, tire flip and a Tug-o-War.
