BEAVER — It was hit and not be hit.

The Symmes Valley Vikings banged out 20 hits while only allowing 2 hits in a 17-5 run rule win over the Beaver Eastern Eagles on Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

While Symmes Valley (5-4, 3-1) banged out 20 hits, they used 3 different pitchers who combined to limit Eastern to just 2 hits.

Mason Stevenson started and got the win as he went 3 innings giving p one hit, 4 runs of which only one was earned, with 3 strikeouts, 5 walks and 3 hit batters.

Braden Hankins worked 2 innings giving up one hit, an unearned run with 4 strikeouts and no walks. Tanner Thompson finished up with 2 strikeouts and a walk in one inning of work.

The offense had plenty of good performances including Luke Niece who was 3-4 with 2 doubles, Tanner Corn 2-3 with a triple and 2 RBI, Tanner Thompson 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI, Zander Hurn 3-4 with 4 RBI, Randy Adkins 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI, Stevenson 3-3 and 3 RBI, and Hankins 3-4 with a double and an RBI.

The Vikings play at South Gallia on Wednesday and at Whiteoak on Thursday.
