Tickets are now available for an event featuring Academy, Emmy and Tony award-winning actress Rita Moreno at Ohio University Southern.

“A conversation with Rita Moreno” will take place on May 26, with the event set for 4 p.m. and doors opening at 3:30 p.m.

The moderator will be John Ferguson, her manager, who lives in Ironton and is a member of the Ironton Rotary Club, who are hosting the event, which will serve as a fundraiser for nursing scholarships and youth services in the community.

Moreno, 92, won the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her performance in the original 1962 version of “West Side Story.”

She will also be staying in town to watch the annual Ironton-Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade, which will take place the next day.
