Rhonda Elswick

July 26, 1956–March 30, 2024

 

Rhonda Lynne Elswick, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Rosemount Pavilion in Portsmouth.

The Ironton native was born July 26, 1956, the daughter of the late Ronald and Myra Dyer Porter.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Elswick, whom she married in August of 1979.

She is a 1976 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a former Kitchen Manager and Cook at Green High School.

She was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church in Ironton.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Christopher M. (Ciara) Elswick, of Sciotoville; daughter, Brandi (Eduardo) Canales, of Tipp City; grandchildren, Jude Elswick, Christopher Elswick, Autumn Elswick, Vincent Canales, Gabriel Canales, and Ava Canales; two sisters, Karen Sanders and Lisa (Tim) Crace, both of Franklin Furnace; and an uncle, Arnold Porter, of Franklin Furnace

Funeral services will be noon Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, with Pastor Arnold Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Haverhill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
