The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers’ Dynamic Duo was, well, dynamic.
Lola Hankins and Emerson White combined for all but 4 of Ironton’s points as the Lady Fighting Tigers rolled past the Lincoln County Lady Panthers 37-20 on Thursday in The Ironton Classic.
Hankins scored a career-high 25 points while White had 10 points. Hankins was named the Ironton team’s Most Valuable Player for the game.
Ironton (4-4) led 7-2 after the first quarter but the Lady Panthers got within 8-4 to start the second quarter when Hankins hit a 25-foot 3-pointer and it was 11-4 with 4:33 left in the half.
Emerson White knocked down a 3-pointer just before the buzzer that gave Ironton a 16-6 lead at the half.
A layup by Hankins put the lead at 29-11 and White’s layup made it 31-11 to end the quarter and virtually seal the outcome.
Rebecca Pennington scored 5 points to lead Lincoln County (1-5).
