Dammer Merrill “Buster” Yates, 77, of Kitts Hill, passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Buster was born Dec. 12, 1945, in Waterloo, Ohio, a son to the late Dennis Yates and Hazel (Miller) Jones.

He is survived by the love of his life, Judy Kay (Boggs), whom he married May 29, 1968.

Buster was a graduate of Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, Kansas and was a former equipment operator for Charleston Construction Company.

Buster enjoyed playing cards “Poker” with his buddies in Waterloo for over 30 years.

He truly loved spending time with his family and was always happy to have them around, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Wanda Lambert, Glenna Kelley and Patricia Anderson.

In addition to his wife, those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa G. and Jeff Crank, of Kitts Hill, his son, Paul Eugene Yates, of Kitts Hill; four grandchildren, Jason (Amber) Sias, Justin (Lea) Crank, Jessica (Chris) Moore and Mason (Becca) Yates; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Emma, Abby, Beau, Lily, Jacob and Jenna. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

In keeping with Buster’s request, there will be no services held at this time.
