Chad Walden

Chad Allen Walden, 46, Ironton, lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, at the James Cancer Center in Columbus.

Chad was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on April 10, 1977 to his parents, Thomas Allen Walden of Ironton and the late Karen (Lambert) Walden.

Chad was a 1995 graduate of Ironton High School and attended Ohio University.

He was a licensed insurance agent for Thomas A. Walden Insurance Agency in Ironton.

Chad and his father helped coach Little League baseball for many years at both the Ironton Little League and Rock Hill Little League, Chad was active in Upward Sports at Bridges Christian Church in Russell, Kentucky, where he helped coach soccer, basketball and flag football.

He loved all things wrestling and taking his two sons to Sports Entertainment wrestling events.

In addition to his father, those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Dylan Thomas Walden and Oliver Leland Walden; his domestic partner, Wenndy Ervin; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Pastor John McKinney officiating.

Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton.

Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
