Will take place at South Point BOE building
SOUTH POINT — The Appalachian Family and Children First Council has scheduled an event to provide help to those with a child on the way, as well as those with young children.
The first annual Winter Wonderland Community Baby Shower is set for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the South Point Board of Education, located at 302 High St., on Friday, Dec. 8.
The event, which is free of charge, is open to all prenatal mothers and young toddler parents.
Featuring refreshments and door prizes, the event will host multiple agencies from around the county to help guide parents to resources.
“I want this to be an annual event to help our families,” Karen Reed, executive director of the council, said. “I know that families are struggling and if us as agencies can help educate and work with them to improve their lives then it’s all worth it in my book.”
