Janice Wilson

Janice Rose (White) Wilson, 85, of Ironton, passed peacefully on the morning of Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 2023, at home while surrounded by all of her family.

Janice was born on Dec. 3, 1937, in Ironton, to the late Jesse James White and Roxy Mae (Spradling) White.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Robert Wilson, on Dec. 10, 1994.

Janice was a hardworking mother and homemaker. In her later years, she was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother.

Janice was always near to loved ones and she did not want it any other way. She knew how to make each person in her family feel special to her and she never missed an opportunity to express her love for them.

She taught everyone how to love big and that love between family is invaluable and is to always be cherished.

Even more than her fierce love for her large family, Janice deeply loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a member of Ironton First Church of the Nazarene. Her unwavering faith and strength found in the Lord carried her family through the years and will continue to do so.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janice was preceded in death by 15 of her 18 dear siblings.

Janice will always be remembered by her children, Mark Wilson; Karla (Rick) Noel, Dane (Julie) Wilson, Lisa (Bruce) Beam, Kris (Emillie) Wilson; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Carl White; sisters, Winnie (Floyd) Deer, Diana Young; and sister-in-law, Janet (Frank) Harmon.

A memorial service will be held at Ironton First Baptist Church on Dec. 1, 2023, at 11:00. Her family is looking forward to the day they will all be reunited.
