Rev. Dr. Douglas C. Carter

The Rev. Dr. Douglas C. Carter, preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, was born on Dec. 21, 1928, and departed this life on Nov. 18, 2023.

He was in the Ironton High Class of 1948, a U.S. Air Force veteran, ARMCO retiree, graduate of Tri-State Bible College and recipient of honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Faith Bible College of Anderson, South Carolina.

The Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, at the First Baptist Church of Burlington, where he pastored for 43 years.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. with burial immediately after service at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton.
