As part of a Right To Read project the students at Fairland West Elementary collected money to send to the Statue of Liberty renovation fund. Over $200 was collected and sent. In 1985 the students received a certificate from the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island Centennial Commission in thanks for their contribution.
