K of C 1405 to conduct
benefit golf outing
The Knights of Columbus No. 1405 Watterson Council will conduct its annual three-man golf scramble Saturday, Aug. 1, at River Bend Golf Club.
Players must be amateurs as defined by the USGA. Entry deadline is July 27 and entry fee is $60 per player. Entry fee includes cart, lunch, and cash prizes for first and second place.
Sign-in starts at 7 a.m. and shotgun start is at 8 a.m.

Marshall cancels all
of its summer camps
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics has canceled the remainder of its summer sports camps due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the department announced on Monday.
Refunds for those camps will be processed by the method of payment. Payments made by credit card will show as a credit on the card. Checks will be processed for those who paid by check. Please allow up to four weeks for processing.

Annual Slamfest softball
tournament July 11-12
The 9th Annual River Cities Slamfest slow-pitch softball tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 11-12, at St. Clouds Commons complex in Huntington, WV.
The tournaments will 3-game guarantee format. The men’s tournament will be the 11th and the co-ed tournament on the 12th. The entry fees will be $150.00 if paid the day of the tournament or $125.00 if paid in full by July 9th.

Teams will hit their own Classic M softballs. Home runs will be one per game with the option of purchasing a band for unlimited home runs by a designated hitter for $15 per game.
First place will receive a trophy and second place a sponsor plaque. If a tournament has at least eight teams, then the winners of that tournament will receive shirts.
There will be bracket party on Thursday night, July 9, for a live draft.
