EDITORIAL: Caring for the region

On Friday, The Tribune shared the first of what we hope will be a long-running feature called Caring for our Community. This feature highlights a different person from the Tri-State each week who was nominated by fellow residents because of the impact they have had on our community.
There are a wide number of ways we can care for our region. Do you know someone who goes out of their way to tidy up their neighborhood? Maybe they pick up litter or cut the grass for an elderly neighbor.
What about someone who puts others before themselves? Perhaps they volunteer their spare time with a local service club, youth sports or at church. Maybe they are first responders who jump to action to ensure the safety of our neighbors. Maybe they organize events and entertainment for our region.
These are just a few examples of the limitless ways we’ve seen our neighbors help shape our community. Is there someone who inspires you with their acts of service, or has touched you with a simple act of kindness? If so, please share your story with us by emailing sarah.simmons@irontontribune.com.
