Elmer Bush

Nov. 24, 1927– Jan. 29, 2020

Elmer Matthew Bush, 92, formerly of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, at Shelby Ridge Rehab in Alabaster, Alabama.

Mr. Bush was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Grayson, Kentucky, a son to the late Lovell and Lula (Smith) Bush. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Marie White Bush, who passed away Feb. 19, 2008.

Mr. Bush attended Hopewell Local schools in Hopewell, Kentucky. He was a 20-year United States Air Force veteran. Mr. Bush retired in 1989 as a driver for Air Products as a member of the Middletown Teamsters, Local # 836, and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Charlotte Kay Bush; brothers, John C. and Clifford E. Bush and sister, Thelma O. Riffe

He is survived by two sons, Randy (Deanne) Bush, of Pelham, Alabama, and Mike Bush, of Birmingham, Alabama; two sisters, Anna Bush and Darlene Criswell, both of Grayson, Kentucky; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Brother Britt Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by VFW Post # 8850. Visitation will be 5–7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Raymond Jackson

Raymond “Rick” Michael Jackson, 65, of Kitts Hill, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Connie (Ferguson) Jackson.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Pastor Jim Kearns officiating. Burial will follow in Langdon Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.

William Safford

William Dominique Fox Safford, 25, of Columbus, formerly of South Point, died on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020. Funeral service will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Visitation will be held 5–6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
