2 indicted for removing GPS monitors: Grand jury returned 23 indictments in December

Amongst the last indictments from the Lawrence County grand jury in 2019, two people were indicted for the removal of their court-ordered monitors. One of them left the state and was arrested in Florida, four days before Christmas.
James B. Schwab, of Ironton, was indicted on three charges including fifth-degree felony escape, third-degree felony tampering with evidence and fifth-degree felony vandalism for removing his GPS monitor on Oct. 18. In September, he had been found guilty of fifth-degree aggravated possession of drugs and was sentenced to four years of intensive supervised community control. He was to report to the Lawrence County Jail on Oct. 18, but did not.
He was arrested on a warrant in Clearwater, Florida on Dec. 20 and transported back to Ohio. He has a hearing on both cases today in the Lawrence County Common Pleas Court of Judge Christen Finley.
Elizabeth Mullins, of Huntington, West Virginia, was indicted by the grand jury for third-degree felony tampering with evidence and fifth-degree felony vandalism for removing her GPS monitor on Nov. 21. In September, she had been sentenced to four years of intensive supervised community control and was to report to a local treatment program when a bed became available and was ordered to wear a GPS monitor. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.

• Jonathan Lee Watts, Ironton, second-degree felony burglary, fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property and fourth-degree felony safecracking.
• John A. Suitor, South Point, fifth-degree felony possession of drugs and fourth-degree felony receiving stolen property.
• Johnathen Wooten, of Jackson, fourth-degree felony grand theft.
• Tracy L. Dement, Chesapeake, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs.
• Carl W. Jenkins Jr., Ironton, second-degree aggravated felony possession of drugs and fifth-degree felony possession of heroin.
• Kennedale Hedge, Vanceburg, Kentucky, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs.
• Travis L. Brunty, Ashton, West Virginia, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs.
• Brandon Lee Peters, Ironton, fourth-degree felony theft.
• William R. McKenzie, Ironton, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs.
• Jepsey B. Murrell, Ironton, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs.
• Christopher S. Adams, East Lynn, West Virginia, fifth-degree felony possession of fentanyl.
• Katey N. Hinton, Scottown, fifth-degree felony possession of heroin.
• Joshua Delawder, Ironton, third-degree felony possession of drugs, second-degree misdemeanor resisting arrest.
• Thomas C. Bowman, Huntington, West Virginia, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs.
• Elaina Webber, Maidsville, West Virginia, second-degree felony trafficking in drugs, second-degree felony possession of controlled substance, fifth-degree felony possession of heroin, fifth-degree felony possession of drugs.
• Angela D. Atkins, Ironton, fifth-degree felony possession of controlled substance.
• Marcus A. Sloan, South Point, third-degree felony obstructing justice.
• Anthony W. Smith, Ironton, second-degree felony trafficking in drugs, third-degree felony tampering with evidence, third-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs.
• Amanda L. Blake, Ironton, fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of controlled substance.
• Shannon Marcum, Ashland, Kentucky, fourth-degree felony failure to appear.
• Phillip O’Dell Jr., Ironton, fifth-degree felony breaking and entering.
• Lafollette A. Bogan, Kokomo, Indiana, fifth-degree felony tampering with evidence.
