WILLOW WOOD — When Symmes Valley’s leading scorer Jack Leith had to battle fouls, little brother stepped up big.
Luke Leith scored 20 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and had a pair of steals as the Vikings beat the South Gallia Rebels 57-46 on Saturday.
The Vikings’ Logan Walsh scored 15 points while Jack Leith added 9 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
The Vikings shot 25-of-52 from the field for 48.1 percent, their best effort this season.
The Rebels (6-2) were led by Jared Burdette with 16 points and Braydon Hammond added 11.
South Gallia took a 16-14 first quarter lead as Burdette hit a pair of 3-pointer. Drew Scherer, Jack and Luke Leith all had 4 points each for the Vikings.
The Vikings (5-4) rallied to take a 27-24 halftime lead as Caden Brammer scored all 5 of his points and Luke Leith added 4 more.
Symmes Valley extended its lead in the third quarter to 39-33 as Luke Leith scored 8 points.
The Vikings outscored the Rebels 18-13 to pull away to the win.
Walsh hit a 3-pointer and scored 7 points while Scherer and Luke Leith scored 4 points each.
Burdette and Tristan Saber had 3-pointers for the Rebels.
The Vikings play at Portsmouth Clay on Friday.
