Speaking for our region

It was announced last week that Lawrence County Commissioner Deanna Holliday has been named to serve on the board of directors for the County Commissioners Association of Ohio.
As part of her duties, Holliday will travel to Columbus to take part in CCAO’s meetings and events.
CCAO is a statewide group that works to advance effective county government through legislative advocacy, education and other programs.
Too often rural areas are overlooked when it comes to decisions made by statewide leaders, as are the concerns of those far removed from the capital.
Holliday has proven to be a strong advocate for our county and this position will help Lawrence County’s voice to be heard by state leaders.
We congratulate her for this appointment and hope she will represent the county and region well to the state.
