ROME TOWNSHIP — Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by the Wyngate at Rivers Edge on Saturday, as the senior living community hosted its annual Christmas celebration with a Brunch with Santa.
The event, which was free and open to the community, was part of the Wyngate’s continuing five-year anniversary celebration, Julie Poff, activities director for the facility, said.
“We had the live reindeer here when we first opened in 2014,” she said of the animals, which came from central Ohio.
“And we brought them back this year.”
Residents, staff, children and members of the community all enjoyed the meal and took turns getting their photos with the Christmas couple, while Mrs. Claus read a story to the children and gave them books.
The Wyngate, which also has a location in Barboursville, has independent living and assisted living apartments for seniors and hosts community events throughout the year, inviting the public to see the facility.
