Stanley Stark
March 5, 1938– Dec. 14, 2019
Stanley ‘Stan’ Stark, 81, of Ironton, formerly of Russell, Kentucky, died peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday evening, Dec. 14, 2019.
Stan was born March 5, 1938 in Huntington, West Virginia, a son of the late Stanley and Ann Chapman Stark.
He was of the Baptist faith, an Air Force veteran serving during the Cold War, a former Boyd County deputy sheriff, a former employee of CSX and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Stan was a former transport driver with Preston Family Funeral Home.
He was a talented drummer and musician having played with many groups in the Tri-State area in the 50s, 60s and 70s.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by two sisters; Chloe and Linda.
Surviving include the love of his life, whom he married in 2007, Clara Mae. He is also survived by two sons, Fred, and wife, Terry, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Stuart, and wife, Amy, of Flatwoods, Kentucky; a daughter, Diane, and husband, Jamie, of Russell, Kentucky; three stepchildren, Janie, of Sciotoville; Mickey, of Haverhill; and Buddy, of Ironton.
He was a proud Grandpa and Poppy to seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; five step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no services.
Kenneth Gholson
Kenneth Graylin Gholson, 77, of Hilliard, formerly of Ironton, died on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Inez (Joseph) Gholson.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main Street (St. Rt. 161 W), Plain City. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Rev. John Ramsey officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Wesley Chapel, Hilliard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Grace Independent Baptist Church, 31457 St. Rt. 31, West Mansfield, OH 43358.

Jack Ransbottom, 75, of Huntington, West Virginia, died on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 1–2 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory.

Samuel David Topping, 75, of Ironton, died on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.

Judith Hager
Judith Marcum Hager, 79, formerly of Huntington, West Virginia, died on Sunday Dec. 15, 2019 at Madison Health and Rehab in Richmond, Kentucky.
Graveside service will be at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.

Alfred Dearman
Alfred Lee Dearman, 50, of Scottown, died on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019 at Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.
He is survived by his fiancé, Melissa Shepherd.

Thomas “Tom” Robert Walsh, 63, of South Point, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Marcum Walsh.
