Thanks to those who aid

Today, from noon-4 p.m., First Southern Baptist Church in South Point will be taking the time to honor first responders in the region and to show them appreciation.

The church, located at 113 Collins Ave., next door to the post office, is lunch and open house and all first responders are invited to come, where a meal and dessert will be served. The church is also delivering food to those on duty and otherwise can not attend.

We commend them for their generosity and work to show gratitude to those who put their lives on the line and assist the public at all hours.

Police, fire and EMS personnel are usually the first on a scene when the worst occurs, whether it be an overdose, a domestic violence call, a deadly blaze or an accident.

Their jobs keep our communities safe and courage and strength to perform their duties. When a crisis occurs, they can be counted on to work tirelessly to aid those in need.

We thank all in this line of work for all that they do and we hope today’s event sees a high turnout and is enjoyed by as many personnel as possible.
