Impact Prevention will host a Red Ribbon Week Lantern Launch on Tuesday at the Ironton marina.

The group’s youth-led prevention team seeks to use the ceremonial luminary release to raise awareness of substance abuse issues and express their goals for a positive future for the community.

There will also be giveaways to students who participate in the event, which is set for 5:30 p.m.

Impact Prevention is a non-profit organization, committed to providing evidence-based prevention strategies for youth in schools and the community.

The group aims to build community capacity and improve protective factors increasing the resiliency of youth to have the skills necessary to make healthy decisions regarding substance use and abuse.
