PORTSMOUTH — Their first league tournament produced two all-league players.
The St. Joseph Flyers landed senior Ryan Payne and junior Jimmy Mahlmeister on the Southern Ohio Conference All-Tournament team Tuesday at the league match at the Portsmouth Elks Country Club.
Payne and Mahlmeister were second team All-SOC as each shot a 96 over the 18-hole event.
Waverly’s Conner Hefner was the SOC Player of the Year for the third straight season. Hefner tied with Portsmouth West’s Brenden Roark with a 76 but won medalist honor in a playoff.
Wheelersburg had a 368 score to win the tournament followed by Portsmouth West just four shots back.
The Flyers had a 451 team score and finished seventh.
