Editorial: Finding forever homes

Apparently, if there is one type of post that people really like on The Tribune’s Facebook page, it’s pictures of cats.

A recent post about kittens up for adoption at the Lawrence County Animal Shelter had reached over 10,500 people as of Friday afternoon.

Better yet, people called and asked for the shelter’s phone number because they wanted to adopt the kittens.

While The Tribune appreciates people looking at cat pictures, finding them a forever home is the part that matters.

The shelter currently has an overpopulation of kittens and has reduced the price to $10 to adopt them. That also covers their first set of shots.

So, if you were tempted to get the grumpy looking tabby kitten, do it.

Don’t like cats? The shelter always has friendly puppies and dogs for adoption.

There is a pet for every temperament and every household.

The Lawrence County Animal Shelter is located at 1302 Adams Lane in Ironton. For more information, call 740-533-1736.
