The truck arrived this week and onions are now available for sale.
Members of the El Hasa Shriners will be setting up at Pick ‘n Save on Saturday, as part of their annual onion sale, with proceeds going to purchase new vehicles to transport children to Shriners hospitals in Cincinnati and Lexington, Kentucky.
Roger Morgan, with the group, said all units of the Ashland-based Shriners will be selling the onions.
“They have been going fast,” he said.
The group plans to take what is left over from individual sales and will be at the grocery store at 10 a.m. at The Ironton Hills Plaza.
Morgan said the Shriners onions can be identified locally by a red bag, featuring a character wearing a fez hat.
“We’ll also be selling raffle tickets for Ohio State tickets,” Morgan said.
The winner of that drawing will be announced later this summer.
